Windham – Robert Joseph Carrier, 62, of River Rd. passed away on June 10, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough, with his family and friends by his side, following a long struggle with cancer and other health issues. Robert was born in Portland, Maine on March 27, 1950 to J. Robert and Theresa Arsenault Carrier. Robert attended St. Hyacinth Elementary School and Cheverus High School, graduating in 1968. He became an Eagle Scout during that time. He later attended the University of Southern Maine and graduated in 1985 with a B.S. in Industrial Technology. Robert was a versatile man. Vocationally Robert was an operating room technician at Maine Medical Center, a truck driver for Blue Rock, an environmental technician for S.D. Warren Co. and machine operator and Chief carpenter at Gabriel Electronics in Scarborough. He was a gardener, rabbit and chicken raiser, guitar player, tool collector, gun collector, hunter and fisherman. He became a certified Microsoft Systems Engineer and helped many friends with computer issues.  He was a poet and enjoyed writing poetry. Robert married twice in his life, first to Susan Taylor Carrier in March 1975 and resided in Windham. After divorcing in 1986, he went on to marry Janet Fortin Carrier in 1989. He and Janet resided in Lakeland, Fl., they divorced in 2000, and at that time Robert returned to his home in Windham. He is survived by his parents of Westbrook, 2 sons David Carrier of Caribou and Joseph Carrier of Windham, 4 grandchildren Derek, Anna, Abbey and Samantha, 2  brothers Richard and Ronald Carrier both  of Windham, a sister Michele Keirstead of North Andover MA, several nieces and nephews, cousins and a Goddaughter. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Brown St. Westbrook.
