WINDHAM- Robert Simon Brumell of Windham passed away on September 20th, 2019 after a courageous 15 months battling cancer, he won the fight on his terms and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Robert was born on February 18, 1961 to Hetty and John Brumell in Croydon, England. Robert married the love of his life Joanne on October 1st, 1983 then welcomed their pride and joy, Emily in 1986. He worked in the healthcare field all of his life, and most recently worked for Fresenius as a dialysis Patient Care Technician for 28 years. He was passionate about his work and adamant about providing the best care he could for his patients while also having a good time. He was known as "Bob" to his friends, co-workers and patients. Robert was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, gardening, kayaking, bird watching, keeping chickens and bees, and all things nature. He loved listening to blues music and always looked forward to attending the "Boogie and Blues Festival" each year in Thornton, NH. He was resourceful, thrifty, never let anything go to waste, and could never pass up a good yard sale. Robert is survived by his wife, Joanne Brumell; daughter, Emily Small and her husband Allen; and brother, Michael Brumell. He was predeceased by his parents Hetty and John Brumell; sister-in-law, Sandi Brumell; and many beloved pets. The family would like to extend gratitude to Dr. Evans and the rest of the staff at New England Cancer Specialists as well as the staff at Maine Medical Center and Hospice of Southern Maine. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday September 29th at 10:00 AM at the Windham Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 434 River Road, followed immediately by a reception at the Windham/Gorham Rod and Gun Club, 8 Tow Path Road in Gorham.
