SCARBOROUGH-- Richard E. Walsh, 90, of Scarborough, ME, passed away on March 19, 2018 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. He was born in Roxbury, MA the son of Eugene and Grace (Clark) Walsh on May 6, 1927. Richard was a World War II veteran of the merchant marines and was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of a west coast Maritime Union and a member of the VFW in South Portland. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Gordon T. Armstrong, Diane Visser-Johnston, Fred Anast, RoseAnn Giese, John Vissers, Rosalie Donaldson, Rhonda Keetan, Matthew Gill, and Carrie Milliard. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Barbara (Gill) Walsh; a sister, Virginia Walsh and a brother, Robert Walsh. Richard would like to thank Carrie, Diane, and Judy Lewis for their care and support during his illness. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Gosnell for the excellent care. A private graveside service will be held in the spring.
