Richmond Richard "Rick" Malcolm Gammon, 58, died Thursday October 13, 2016 at Maine General Hospital in Waterville. He was born August 29, 1958, in Portland a son of Malcolm Gammon and Maureen Burnham. Rick grew up in Westbrook and was a 1977 graduate of the Baxter School for the Deaf. He enjoyed 30 years of employment with Bath Iron Works and was a proud member of the Local6 Shipbuilders Union. Rick will be remembered as a man whose family came first. He had a passion for sports and was an avid Red Sox and Celtics fan, and coached in deaf basketball and softball leagues. Rick was predeceased by his siblings Kimberly Beth Gammon in 1965, and Brent Mitchell Calnan in 1971. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Jane (LaFrance) Gammon; mother, Maureen Calnan and her husband Robert of Brownfield; father, Malcolm Gammon and his wife Annette of Windham; daughters, Jessica Gammon of Winslow, and Monica Works and her husband Alan of Westbrook; grandchildren, Evan, Ayden, Amber, and Kimber; brothers, Craig Gammon and his wife Tricia of Sarasota, FL, Timothy Gammon of Windham, and Bryan Calnan and his wife LeeAnn of Brownfield; stepbrothers Arthur and Leo Nye; niece, Heather; and nephews, Alex and Nicholas. He will be greatly missed by his three Papillon's, Peanut, Gigi, and Ruby. Visiting hours will be held Monday October 17, from 5:00 – 7:00PM and Tuesday October 18, from 5:00 – 7:00PM at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham.
