Richard Gifford—Gorham—Richard Gifford, 69 of Gorham died suddenly on Monday, June 6, 2016 after a courageous battle with mental illness. He was born on January 19, 1947 a son a Milton and Dorothy Demello Gifford. Rick was self employed and a proud owner of R&S Window Cleaning for 20 years. In 2014 he fought his second battle with cancer in the prostate and won. In 2001 he fought his first hard battle with throat cancer and won, but never got his taste buds back. Although he never had any taste for food Rick loved to go to various breakfast restaurants everyday with his loving wife Sue to connect with her and others. They were known as "Rick & Sue" for 38 years wherever they went. They were a team together in life and will remain a team even through his death because he will love forever in his wife's heart. His hobbies included motorcycles, snowboarding, and taking loving care of Sue and their three dogs, Levi, Jasmine and Dusty. Rick volunteered at the Animal Refuge League in Westbrook. Survivors include his wife, Susan Gifford of Gorham, a postal worker for 30 years, his son, Ernest R. Gifford of Gig Harbor, WA from a previous marriage, his daughter, Lynn Marie Gifford of Kingston, MA from a previous marriage, and a brother Milton Gifford of Pensacola, FL.
