Richard G. Butterfield, 56, of Standish, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012. He was born in Portland, the son of Donald Butterfield Sr. and Joan Bridges Butterfield. Dick was raised in Westbrook and graduated from Westbrook High School and later from Wentworth College. He worked for Brown Construction Co for 25 years before starting his own construction business, RGB, in 1999. Dick was an avid golfer and a member of Gorham Country Club for many years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, his cars, and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his father Donald Butterfield Sr. He is survived by his mother Joan Butterfield of Portland; his wife Ann (Dugas) Butterfield of Standish; his children Brent and his wife Serena Butterfield of Standish, and Amy Butterfield of Standish, two brothers Donald Jr. and his wife Michelle Butterfiled of Gorham, and Doug and his wife Debbie Butterfield of Westbrook; a granddaughter Caitlyn Butterfield; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 7 PM Tuesday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Anthony's Church in Westbrook.  Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.  On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
