Reginald Ralph Washby, 63, of Westbrook, passed away at his home on August 27, 2016. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Charles Smith and Hazel Washby. He grew up in West Virginia and moved to Maine in 1970. He enjoyed playing sports in high school, he was active on the football team, and won a North Eastern Title in track and field. He went on to become a member of the United States Army as a Staff Sargent. Reginald worked the summer lunch program for 2 years at the Hamlet Coach Park, and was also involved in the food pantry on Brown Street, in Westbrook. He was a member of the American Legion and a member of the Masons. He loved local and national politics and even got to meet President Bush and Susan Collins. He loved to cook, work in his vegetable garden, play cards with friends, fishing with his sister Juanita, his Cat Bootsy, and his greatest Love was his wife Julie. He had a great love for his children, and grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 sons, Reynaldo Washby, and Ansenio Washby, and daughter Bunda Spriggs He is survived by his wife of 21 years Julie Washby, Children, Regi Reynolds, Phillip Reynolds and wife Rachelle of Las Vegas Nevada, Carey Thomas and husband Donald, Lisa Washby and Nick Aaron of Jacksonville, FL, and Shane Barrows of Westbrook Maine, sisters Deborah McDonald and husband Terry McDonald, and Juanita Hughes, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family would like to thank the EMT of Westbrook for a great job they did.
