GORHAM - Raymond "Ray" Albert Proulx, Jr., 68, passed unexpectedly October 6, 2022, at a care facility in Union, Maine. He was born November 8, 1953, in Portland, the son of Raymond and Aleta (Ingalls) Proulx. Ray attended Buxton schools and later obtained his G.E.D. In 1978 while working as a baker, he met the mother of his children, Patricia, bringing to this world three strong boys. One of his interests was karate and was proud of his achievements. Ray also enjoyed time in the kitchen, including baking donuts. He spent time working on his brother's lobster boat and as years went on always reminisced about his days on the ocean. Ray had a mobile repair business in which he enjoyed fabricating, tinkering, and working with metal. Ray always had a spark for creativity whether it be an invention, writing a song, or a sharing a joke. Ray was no stranger to a guitar or karaoke. Ray was an outdoorsman. He hunted and loved spending time with his three sons finding local swimming holes and hidden fishing spots. He was no stranger to ice fishing. Ray had an undeniable bond with his three sons as laughter could be heard wherever they gathered. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Norman; and a sister, Sandy. Surviving are his three sons, Raymond of Limerick, Trapper of Buxton, and Colton of Hollis. Also surviving is his sister Nancy, Mona Costa and her husband ,Jim of Hollis, Monty Lowell of Gorham as well as four grandsons and two granddaughters. The family thanks the staff at Crawford Commons for the care provided to Raymond while there. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Mayberry Cemetery, Park Rd, Windham.
