Obituary

Windham- Pierre P. Dugas "Peter", of Westbrook, passed away at his daughter's house surrounded by his children, on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.  The son of Ernest and Aurora (Larrivee) Dugas, he was born in Westbrook on May 25, 1939.   Peter served at a tank operator in the Army, and after that he worked as a machine operator at S.D. Warren for 40 years. He was a member of St. Edmunds and St. Anthony's in Westbrook. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, Member of the S Gauge Model Train Club, and was known as a handy man even starting his own small engine shop in Westbrook after he retired from the mill.  He enjoyed volunteering as a Westbrook firefighter, and with the Coats for Kids campaign.  He volunteered with his wife Ida, at the food pantries in Westbrook and Portland.  One of the highlights of his week was the Sunday evening poker game, which he enjoyed very much.    He was predeceased by his wife Ida (Wilcox) Dugas of 56 years, his brothers André and Maurice "Din Din" Dugas, and his great granddaughter Ellie Rose Carrier.   He will be missed by his children Pamela and Randy Segler of Buxton, Joseph and Julie Dugas of Windham, and Karen and Kevin Grant of Windham, 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Adam Carrier, Meghan and Shane Pomelow, Jessica Grant, and Kayla and Joshua Dugas, and 2 great grandsons Logan Carrier, and Connor Pomelow.  He is also survived by his two sisters Raymonde Crockett of Windham, and Delores Phillips of Hollis, and many nieces, nephews and good friends.       Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 9:30-11:30 AM at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St. Westbrook, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM at St. Anthony of Padua Parish 268 Brown Street, Westbrook.  Interment will take place at a later date at St. Hyacinth Cemetery 296 Stroudwater Rd.
