Obituary

Windham - Philip A. Sweetsir, 84, of Gray passed away on August 19, 2025. He was born in Portland on July 30, 1941, the son of Ralph and Evelyn (Cossar) Sweetsir. He attended local schools in Cape Elizabeth, and after graduation he served in the United States Airforce. He retired from National Semiconductor of South Portland. Philip was a member of the VFW post 10643, and the American Legion, Field Allen Post 148 Windham. Philip liked to fix what was broken, especially when it came to musical equipment, he enjoyed the outdoors boating, fishing, hunting, and spending time in the garden. Philip also enjoyed barbecuing and spending time with friends and family. Philip is survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Michael and Maki Sweetsir of Tennessee; Lukas Sweetsir and his partner Melissa Arce and their children, Mylah and Leleah Sweetsir, of California; James Sweetsir of Tennessee; Shelley and Keith Temm of Buxton; Joshua and Rebecca Temm and their children, Leira Day-Temm, Carter Temm, and Caitlin Temm; Sadie and Raymond Felker and Mason Felker of Hollis; Teresa and Jason Kennedy of Standish; Charley Kennedy and her children, Kason Michaud and Jett Michael Dandridge of Standish, and Wade Kennedy of Sebago; Tracy Sweetsir of Gray and James Riley and his children Bella, Jace and Lane Riley of Florida; and Tammy Swett and her children, Aden Swett and Ethan Swett of Poland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Philip was predeceased by his sister, Violet Newcomb of Windham. Celebration of life to be announced.
