Philip R. Bradstreet, 97 passed away May 14, 2019. He was born March 9, 1922 in Ipswich, MA on Labor in Vain Rd. the son of Alfred T. and Dora Beers Bradstreet. He started school in New Harbor ME, but also attended schools in Gardiner, New Brunswick, Kennebunk and York. He graduated from York High School in 1941. In 1941 he joined the USCG in and was in Merchant Service until 1942 and later at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard until 1945, also serving in the North Pacific and Bering Sea off the coast of Japan on the USS Hoquiam. Philip married his wife, Virginia (Brady) on March 28, 1943 in York, ME. He went onto college and received a degree from Wentworth University earning a Steam and Diesel Degree. Other jobs that Philip had throughout his life were for Brackett and Shaw, Clarostat Mfg. Co, General Electric, Flattery Refrigeration and Aero Space, Janco Tool and Die and Sylvania. The last ten years of his working career, he started his own business and built homes before his retirement in 1986. He became a Master Mason 1990. Philip resided in many places throughout his life including; York, Eliot, Verona Island Bucksport, Limington and Standish Me, Vieques Island PR, Cochise, AZ and Westbrook. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife; Virginia (Brady).He is survived by three sons, a daughter, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A graveside service for Philip will be 11 AM Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Southern Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery 86 Stanley Rd., Springvale ME, 04083.
