IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Perley Lee
Dupuis
October 29, 1952 – March 27, 2026
Perley Dupuis, a devoted husband, dedicated father, and adoring grandfather, was a resilient man of impressive "fix-anything" talent and limitless curiosity who passed away on March 27, 2026. Generous to his core, he always put the needs of others before his own — the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back — and met every challenge with the patience of a saint.
Born in Portland, Maine, Perley grew up exploring the outdoors alongside his brothers, later graduating from Portland High School in 1971. He answered his country's call, proudly serving three years as a sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, stationed in Guam. He was honorably discharged in April 1974.
After the service, Perley tried his hand at various trades before discovering his true passion on the Maine waterfront as a fish cutter — a craft he gave more than 40 years of his life to with quiet pride. In 1982, he married the love of his life, Judy Butler, and together they raised three daughters.
He retired in 2019, finally free to spend his days listening to music and working on his beloved projects in his shed, around the yard and house, surrounded by the family he cherished most. He is survived by his wife Judy; daughters Rebecca Joseloff, Malerie Dow, and Jillian Dupuis; brothers Raymond Dupuis and Ricky Swasey; and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Jacky Swasey and sisters Vanita Swasey and Wanda Cates.
A celebration of life will be held in June.
