Pauline Frances Hodgkins, November 20,1925 – May 5,2015. Polly passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at a Portland Hospital, she was 91. Polly was born in Westbrook, ME the daughter of the late Charles Henry Hodgkins and Ruth Elinor Smith Hodgkins. She graduated from Westbrook High School and went on to Northeastern Business School where she majored in accounting. Polly had a long and varied career in the insurance and banking fields in Portland. She worked for the original Martin's (now Hannaford) in the accounting department. She then worked for Northwestern Mutual Insurance as a bookkeeper. She worked also at Maine National Bank, Mutual Benefit Life, and ended her career at Morse, Payson & Noyes. She joined Westbrook Warren Church and was still a member of Westbrook Warren Congregational Church at the time of her death. She was a past member of the Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star (Mizpah) now Cornerstone. She was a member of Westbrook Historical Society, and Chopin Club of Westbrook. She was a former Commissioner of Westbrook Housing Authority representing Larrabee Village in Westbrook. She loved playing Beano, knitting and reading. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Charles Richard Hodgkins, and her brother in law Merle Usher. She is survived by her sister Janice Hodgkins Usher, her niece Karen Usher, Nephews Raymond Usher, and Steven Usher and his wife Chrissy Taylor, all of Westbrook. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday May 10th, at 11am at Woodlawn Cemetery. Her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Maine Medical Center, and the Westbrook Fire and EMT's and staff at Larrabee Village for their care of Polly.
