Pauline M. Knight, 91, formerly of Windham and Lake Placid, FL, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2015. She was born in Gorham on June1, 1924, the daughter of Maurice and Maude Carter. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 2005, after 63 years of marriage and two brothers, Mike and Norman Carter. Polly was a graduate of Westbrook High School. She and Robert raised three daughters, Susan, Cynthia, and Julie in Westbrook. Polly Worked for Weyerhauser CO. in Westbrook as an office receptionist for 22 years. She lived a very active and productive life. She loved knitting, sewing, playing golf, bridge, bunco, taking painting classes and spending time with family. She volunteered at the Lake Placid Hospital for many years.           She is survived by three daughters, Susan K. Conner (William) of Englewood, FL, Cynthia Hoyt of Windham, and Julie K. Metevier (David) of Falmouth, as well as 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.           There will be a memorial service at Blais and Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St. in Westbrook on Saturday, Aug. 8. A visiting hour will be from 9-10 am with a service starting at 10. Interment will follow directly after the service at Brooklawn Memorial Park. Afterward all is welcome to celebrate Polly's life at the home of David and Julie Metivier of Falmouth.           The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Southern Maine, who gave tremendous support and compassionate care to Polly for the last 10 months of her life.
