Cape Elizabeth- Paulette Arline Gaudreau, 70, passed away in Portland on July 25, 2018 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. The daughter of Arthur and Adrienne (Valliere) Tourigny, she was born in Biddeford on June 5, 1948. She attended Biddeford schools and graduated from St. Andre High School. After high school she worked for the state of Maine at the Department of Health and Welfare. During this time she met Lawrence G. Gaudreau Jr. on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend. After a short courtship and engagement, the two were married on September 19, 1970, before Skeet had to ship out for his time in the service. After Skeet's return home they settled in Westbrook to raise their three children. She was very active at St. Edmund's Church in Westbrook. After her children were raised she worked for Maine Media Credit Union for 21 years. She lived for her family and truly enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible. She loved that holidays brought everyone together to share past stories and create new special memories. She has always been a supporter of her family. She attended every activity she could to see her grandchildren perform. Paulette was predeceased by her brother Richard Tourigny. She is survived by her husband of nearly 48 years, Larry "Skeet" Gaudreau, her son Shawn Gaudreau, and his wife Angela of Gorham, her son Jason Gaudreau, and his wife Heather of Gorham, her daughter Nicole Burton, and her husband Chris of Gorham, her grandchildren to whom she was known as Grammy and "GiGi", Jordan, Jayden, Ryan, Lydia, Andrew, Sophie, Jensen, Lawren, and Tamsen, her brother Bruce Tourigny, and his wife Susan of Biddeford, and her sister Sharon Ahrens, and her husband Scott of Florida. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 5-8 PM at the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 35 Church St. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony's of Padua, 268 Brown St. Westbrook. Interment will take place following the service in Woodlawn Cemetery, Stroudwater St. Westbrook. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Paulette's memory to The Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine, PO Box 1807, Auburn ME 04211-1807.
