Paul Leroy Parker, Sr. passed away on September 1, 2023, after a long illness. He was born on September 23, 1939, to Archie A. Parker and Beatrice Pearl (Stewart) Parker. He grew up as the son of a Maine fish and wildlife professional and spent much of his childhood moving from fish hatchery to fish hatchery throughout the state. He became proficient in hunting and fishing in his youth. As a young man, he worked many jobs such as fine retail clothing stores, auto sales, and snow plowing. As an adult, he followed in his father and grandfather's footsteps and became a truck driver. He drove 18-wheelers all over the country and relished life on the road. As a husband and father, Paul left the road, learned the trade of installing vinyl and aluminum siding and roofing, and worked alongside his son Paul Jr. in his company Parker & Son Siding and Roofing but eventually returned to the open road. Paul was an avid NASCAR fan and traveled to many races, often camping onsite and sharing camaraderie with fellow fans. He would return home with many entertaining tales of his adventures. Paul was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 4131 in New Gloucester, and spent countless hours in various fundraising and philanthropic ventures as well as enjoying the camaraderie of his many friends there. He rose to the office of State President in 2000, which was one of the proudest achievements of his life. He is pre-deceased by his son Paul Parker Jr.; his brother Linwood Parker, Sr., and his parents Archie & Pearl Parker. He is survived by his wife Sharon Parker and is predeceased by his former wives Pauline Parker, Harriet Phillips, and Evelyn Mitchell. He is survived by his first wife, Dorothy (Grant) Belanger. He has numerous adult children, stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, September 7 from 1-3 p.m. at Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham, Maine. In lieu of a funeral service, friends and family are invited to a celebration of life on Saturday, September 9 from 3-6 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, Aerie 4131 on Sabbathday Rd., New Gloucester.
