GRAY-Paul Richard "Ricky" Day, 71, born September 13, 1947 in Portland, Maine to the late Mary Ellen Feeney Day and the late Paul R. Day passed peacefully forward from his home in Gray, Maine on August 23, 2018. Paul was raised in Deering Center in Portland and graduated from Deering High School 1966. He graduated from Maine Maritime Academy in 1970 and was in the Merchant Marine industry at American Officers Association until retiring in 2014. Paul lived an adventurous life living in Portland ME, Duluth MN, Kingfield ME, Honolulu HI and The Netherlands before retiring to Gray. Paul loved engineering, auto repair, wood carving and gardening. "Little Ricky Day" made friends wherever he went. He loved to be surrounded in a crowd where he most always was the center. He will be sadly missed by his immediate and extended family. His wish to be cremated will be honored. Paul is survived by his daughters, Anissa Mary Day and Adrienna Day Lund and husband Nicholas; his grandson, Oliver and brothers, J. Kevin Day and Brian E. Day. Friends and family may pay respects at the service, on Tuesday, August 28 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. with a service to follow at the Windham chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 434 River Road, Windham. A Celebration of life will follow at Bruno's Restaurant, 33 3708 Allen Ave, Portland from 11:30 -4:00 PM. F.W.E.
