Obituary

Paul E Caron (Chico) of Windham, Maine, passed away of natural causes November 15, 2025 at the Gosnell house in Scarbrough, Maine. Born March 8, 1938, son of the late Amedee and Elvine Caron (Lagace'). Paul spent most of his younger years in Westbrook, Maine with his late brother Peter and his surviving sister Claudette. After leaving high school Paul spent time in the army and switched to the marines and finished his tour there. Upon reentering civilian life, Paul started working with his brother-in-law Joseph Perrault, husband to Claudette, at a gas station he owned in Portland, Maine. While working here Paul had a chance to work at S.D. Warren Paper mill in Westbrook and chose to begin and end his career there. During this time Paul married his long-time crush, Patricia Petersen and started the family he has now. Paul and family moved into a camp on highland lake in Windham in 1970 and built the home he resided in up until his last few days, which was his wish. He was known as the mayor of Vista Drive to some but to everyone he was known as the man that would help anyone, anytime in any way he could. Surviving Paul is his sister Claudette Perrault of Portland, his children Roger and wife Denise and their children, Alyssa and Robert and great grandchildren Charlotte and Carter all residing in Florida. His daughter Melody and husband Allen of Windham, Scot (unknown) and youngest son John Caron of Portland. The family expresses gratitude and thanks to the staff at the Gosnell House for their speedy reception and caring touch during our father's last few days and to his caregiver Josie Meservey who assisted in his day-to-day living these last 8 months. We also want to extend great appreciation to his nieces and nephews who expeditiously dropped what they were doing and traveled from away to visit before his passing, we're sure it meant the world to him as did the visit from his sister Claudette and niece, Cathy. At this time, according to our father's wishes he will be immediately cremated with no services planned, but there will be a small family gathering to scatter his remains in the spring.
