Paul Thomas Boivin, 67, of Gorham, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Gosnell Hospice Home in Scarborough. He was born and raised in Gorham, the son of Laurent and Lillian (Gouzie) Boivin. After serving his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, he returned home and worked several jobs in the paving and construction business. He was a member of the American Legion. Paul was very energetic with a wonderful sense of humor, quick witted and loud. He will also be remembered as having a heart of gold. He was predeceased by a sister Arlene Webster. He is survived by his lifelong friend and mother of his children Audrey Sawyer of Portland; son Shawn Boivin of Gorham: his daughter Paula Prak and husband John of Rossville, GA; his brothers Jerry and Leo of Westbrook, David and Anthony of Gorham; his sisters Rachel Boivin and Anne Kenney of Westbrook, Loretta Rojek of Buxton, Lucille Young of Bookelia, FL, Margaret Edwards of Conway, NH, Susan McGrew of West Baldwin, Louise Coleman of Sebago, and Jeanne Darcy of Buxton; his two grandchildren Jenica and Thomas Prak. The family would also like to give a special thank you to his sister-in-law Donna Boivin for her care and compassion while taking care of Paul. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 6 PM Tuesday, followed by a funeral service at 6PM at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. Interment will be private.
