Westbrook _ Patrick Michael Cox, 63, of Westbrook passed away at his home on Tuesday April 8, 2014 .  He was a unique and charismatic man who touched the lives of many. Patrick was born in Portland on April 11, 1950.  He was the son of Loren Cox of Bangor and Eleanor Cox Morse of Portland.  He was a graduate of Westbrook High School.  He was a genuine American hero who proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran of the US Marines.  He retired from Bath Iron Works after 25 years as a ship builder. He was loved by his wife of 32 years, Deborah Cox of Westbrook and cherished by children Patricia (Chad) Cox Bennett of Sayre PA, Lauren Cox of Denver CO and Patrick Cox II of Westbrook ME.  He is also survived by his adopted children Tammy Lynn (Howard) Garrity and Michael Miller of Sayre PA.  Patrick also leaves behind two grandsons Phillip and Arin Bennett who share their grandfather's love for history.  His older sisters Colleen Marshall, Kathleen Fuller and younger brother Jim Morse and younger sister Janie Epstein will miss his wit and wisdom. In addition, he leaves behind special friends, Dana and Debra DiPietrantonio, and a much loved extended family and circle of friends. Mike's gruff exterior belied a dry sense of humor and a friendliness that often surprised those who did not know him.  He had a special gift that allowed him to start up meaningful conversations with complete strangers.  He combined his love of his Irish heritage, the lineage of his family, his interest in historical sites like Gettysburg with a sincere passion for technology.  He saw technology as his friend, he became a self taught tech guru that made him an expert to his family, friends and complete strangers.
