Standish – Patrick Joseph Maloney, 50 of Park Ave., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Patrick was born on St. Patrick's Day - March 17, 1962 in Portland to Donald E. Maloney Sr. & Anne Marie Maloney. He attended Cathedral Grammar School becoming an altar boy and singing in the choir. He graduated from Bonny Eagle High School in 1980, and continued his education at the University of Southern Maine. After college he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was stationed on the U.S.S. Pensacola. He served honorably for eight years. At the time of his passing, he was being recognized for his 20th year of dedicated service with L.L.Bean. Patrick was an avid Boston Red Sox, Celtics, New England Patriots, and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed attending his nephews sporting events. His many interests include attending Beech Ridge Speedway races, spending time in the outdoors, and working with the Outdoor Discovery School at L.L.Bean. He worked out daily at Planet Fitness and was an avid blood donor for the American Red Cross. He recently celebrated his 50th birthday with close family & friends at his favorite annual birthday tradition spot Brian Boru's He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his brother Donald Jr., and his wife Julie Maloney, nephews Michael and Jeffery Wolstenhulme of Saco; his brother David Sr. and wife Gina Maloney, nephews David Jr. and Brandon of Standish; his sister Jean Maloney of Standish; his brother Stephen and wife Sue, nephew Ryan and niece Christine of Standish. His girlfriend Debora Berry of Saco and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will follow in New Calvary Cemetery.
