Obituary

Patricia A. “Patty” Kelley

Patricia A. “Patty” Kelley, 86, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, at Avita of Stroudwater in Westbrook, Maine, under the compassionate care of all the staff there and Hospice, where she had resided for the past six years.

Patty was born on October 2, 1939, in Windham, Maine, the daughter of Frederick E. Kelley and Agnes Kelley. She graduated with honors from Windham High School in 1957.

Known throughout her life for her remarkable work ethic, Patty rarely spent time away from the workforce except to devote herself to raising her three children. They and her grandson were her highest priority.

Throughout her career, Patty worked for Union Mutual, Canal Bank, Portland Copper & Manufacturing, and several other businesses. Later, her career took her to Seattle, Washington; Atlanta, Georgia; and ultimately the Washington, D.C., area, where she worked for Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner LLP, a nationally recognized intellectual property law firm.

Patty loved to travel and especially enjoyed helping establish a new office in California during her time with the firm. Among her favorite adventures was a memorable trip to Africa, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She also loved entertaining family and friends who visited her in Virginia, making every visit special by planning day trips, sightseeing, and shows throughout Washington, D.C.

Patty is survived by her children, Holly Tubbs and her wife, Kathy Erickson, of Bridgton; Lee Tubbs and his wife, Judy, of Windham; and Scott Tubbs and his wife, Brenda, of Raymond; her grandson, Joshua Tubbs and his partner, Bethany Manzo, of Windham; her cherished great-granddaughter, Nova, of Windham; her sister, Ellen Jordan of Windham; her brothers, Russell Kelley and his wife, Jo, of Naples, and Frederick Kelley and his wife, Carole, of Windham; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, numerous children who referred to her as “Aunt Patty” and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Agnes Kelley, and her sisters, Kathleen Whirlwind Soldier and Barbara Kelley.

Patty will be remembered for her determination, independence, adventurous spirit, and the warm hospitality and generosity she extended to those she loved. Her family will forever cherish the memories of her travels, her stories, and the special times they shared together.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice. Patty was a strong supporter of military veterans.

There will be a visitation with Patty's family on Friday August 7, 2026 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm at Dolby, Blais, & Segee Windham Chapel located at 434 River Rd. Windham. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
