Obituary

WINDHAM—Ninetta J. Eddy, 89, died on July 22, 2017 at her home. She was born in Clairton, PA a daughter of Oscar and Edna (Barrett) Garner. Ninetta grew up in Pennsylvania, graduating from Clairton High School in the class of 1945. On February 2, 1949, she married Gerald C. Eddy and together raised three children, Paul, Tim and Faith. Ninetta was so fortunate to come to know and love our Lord Jesus as her Savior at a young age at Bentleyville camp. God began a mighty work in her and gave her a servant's heart. Ninetta was proud to be a Pastor's wife, and enjoyed partaking in various roles of the church such as playing piano, teaching Sunday school, and making others feel welcomed. She had the gift of hospitality and their home hosted many family, friends, Pastors, Evangelists, and missionaries. As a family, Gerald's pastoral duties led them to live in various parts of the country, including numerous parts of New York, Maine, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. During their stay in Patchogue, NY, Ninetta worked as a Kindergarten teacher at a Lutheran School. She later changed careers and worked for 18 years as a registered nurse in Danbury and New Britain, CT. Ninetta enjoyed traveling with Gerald, together visiting all 50 states. Her favorite places were the coastal regions and Vermont. She enjoyed cooking and baking, sewing, and puzzles. Above all, Ninetta will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who cared for her family deeply. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Gerald C. Eddy; children, Paul Eddy and his wife Diane, Tim Eddy and his wife, Chunson-Choe, and Faith Lick and her husband, Ken; grandchildren, Marissa Shivick and her husband Joe, Jarred Eddy, Justin Eddy, Jasmin Eddy, Kaleb Eddy, Gretchen Lick, Kirstin Lick and Michaela Lick. She was predeceased by her sisters, Florence Margaret Boyd and Mary Lousie Bickerton. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 27th at 10am at Windham First Church of the Nazarene, 823 Gray Rd., Windham, ME 04062.
