Nealand C. Knight, 90, of Longfellow St., Westbrook, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at his home after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Buxton, the son of Erland and Carrie (York) Knight. Nealand served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He later began his career with S.D. Warren Paper Co., where he worked for 42 years before his retirement. Nealand was predeceased by his first wife Fay Ann Knight after 37 years of marriage. He later married Sandra Knight April, 5, 1991, they just celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary. They recently moved to Westbrook after living in Florida for the past 16 years. Nealand is survived by his wife Sandra (Hanna) Knight of Westbrook; his son Neal Knight Jr. of Ocala, FL; daughters Vickie K. Joy of the Villages, FL and Debra K. Axelsen of Westbrook; grandchildren Lisa Joy, Neal Axelsen, Stacey Gottdenker, Kevin Axelsen, Keith Axelsen, Jenna Knight, and Renae Columbo; great grandchildren Hannah, Kariana, Jenae, Dylan, Elise, Sarina, Tyler, Charlotte, Kaydence, and Sadie; step-children Eddie O'Brien of Norfolk, VA, Kenny and Judy O'Brien of VA, Janice and Tim Welch of Gorham, and Cheryl Rollins of No. Yarmouth; step-grandchildren Deanna and Samantha Welch, Eric, Mathew, Brian, and Leila Rollins. A time of visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 AM Thursday, May 5, at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook, followed by a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook.
