Nancy Anne (Sorensen) Petersen Maloy, passed away on September 1, 2017, at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough. Nancy was born in Portland, Maine on October 6,1932, the daughter of the late Helen Warming and Jorgen Sorensen, which owned Sorensen's Danish Pastry Shop in Portland. She attended schools in Falmouth and Portland graduating from Deering High School in 1951. Nancy attended Grand View University, in Des Moines, IA and the former Northeastern Business School of Portland. She worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Portland and Levine's clothing store in Waterville. Nancy married DeForest S. Petersen in 1955, he passed away in 1963. She later married Robert J. Maloy and they raised five children together. Nancy was proud of her Danish heritage and passed on her love for Danish food and traditions to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed working in the garden, especially her flowers. Nancy was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, in Windham. She belonged to the order of the Eastern Star, the former Longfellow Chapter 61, South Portland. She is survived by her husband Robert J. Maloy of Windham and five children; Dana S. Petersen wife Debra of Sanford, Lisa Petersen Jones of Norway, Robert W. Maloy of Sparks, NV. Kristine Petersen Trull and husband Jack of Saco, Jim Maloy and wife Vicki of Vassalboro; special stepdaughter Barbara Hazel of Fernley, NV; eight grandchildren, Jeffery Jones and wife Kayla, Jamie Jones, Malory Petersen, Erik Petersen and Chelsea Loe and husband Quentin, Krystal Trull, John Trull and Amy Richards; five great grandchildren, Emma, Ava, Emily, Molly and Grayson; sister, Sonja Sorensen Rollins husband Richard of Summerfield, FL; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We are going to miss you mom! Predeceased by her parents, son in law Grant A. Jones and many special in laws and cousins. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for all of the compassionate care they gave to Nancy. A memorial service will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham. Burial will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St., Portland.
