Nancy Richards, 61, of East Bridge St., Westbrook, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. She was born in Portlland, the daughter of Hazel (Johnson) Mavis.  Nancy worked as a C.N.A. for many years before retiring.  She also worked on the Gray Rescue Unit for several years.  Helping people was an important part of her life.  She enjoyed Beech Ridge Speedway and loved to spend time with her daughter Kimberly before she passed away. She was predeceased by her father Ronald Mavis Sr., a son Michael Shiplept, a daughter Kimberly Richards, and a brother Ronald Mavis Jr. She is survived by her husband Robert Richards of Westbrook; a daughter Eva Mavis Breton and her husband Donald; three grandchildren; Kendra, Janessa, and Jacob three sisters, Robin Cobb, Melissa and Shawn Cromeenes, and Esther and John Sherrod; and many brother and sister-in-laws Bill and Carol Richards, Ralph and Annette Richards, Debbie Dibiase, Bruce and Tina Richards, James and Jo Jo Richards, Margaret Hood, and Sharon and George Curit; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to4 and6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook.  A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
