Obituary

Nancy Elizabeth Keith Merry of Scarborough, Maine went peacefully home to our Heavenly Father on Jan. 1st, 2022 with the Love of her life of 62 years James G. Merry holding her hand. Nancy was born to William & Helen Keith of Westbrook, Maine. Where she graduated in 1952 and she was one of seven siblings. She is survived by her sister Roberta Morse of Scarborough, sister-in-law Beverly Keith Lipsi of Gorham and Nancy's husband James G. Merry of Scarborough. Nancy was predeceased by her sisters; Audrey Keith, Jeanie Curiale, Karen Ricci Keith, Vicki Cockery Chuluda and brother William Keith II. Nancy graduated from Nursing School 1958 in Norwood, Mass. She worked as an LPN at Maine Medical Center and she loved working in the operating room, where she was known for her "steady hands". She always went above and beyond her regular duties and loved every minute of it! She met Jimmy at a dance during the years she was attending nursing school and dated for several years. She told her parents that Jim was the guy she was going to marry, after their 1st date. This was the beginning of a true "LOVE STORY". They married Aug. 29, 1959 and began their family together. Nancy loved raising her 8 children, was a Sunday School teacher and ran several bus routes for many years. To this day many kids still talk about the impact she made on their lives. She helped run several family businesses with her Jimmy up until her passing. Some of her favorite things were flower gardening, mowing the lawns, decorating each room in the house, she had a good eye for that. Riding with Jimmy through the countryside to see all the green pastures eating red hotdogs and having fun at the yard sales. Christmas was her favorite holiday as you would expect to see blue Christmas lights and decorations all throughout the house all year long. She loved "loving" people, saw the best in everybody, always spoke the truth in love and was always up for a challenge if an opportunity arose. She would find ways for building you up which always made you feel special. She wasn't afraid to ask strangers if they knew Jesus! She had the best sense of humor. She enjoyed her "sister times eating seafood!!! And the love for family reunions throughout the years. Nancy was a long-time church member since 1968 at The Bible Speaks Church then of Scarborough and later The Grace Bible Church of Gorham. She attended church services, bible studies, went on visitations to hospitals, visited "shut-ins" and many Sunday school families. She loved her church family and shared her love for others on a daily basis. She raised her children in a kind, loving, caring home with her Jimmy's support. Also, took the time with her grandchildren to remind them who Jesus was or who was in charge. She was known as the "QUEEN" and "THE BEST" and in church they would say "HERE COMES TROUBLE!" Nancy is survived by all of her children; Elizabeth Merry, Stephen & Crystal Merry, Greg & Sylvia Merry, Chris & Melissa Merry, Rebecca & Jeff Cragin, Josh & Raye-lin Merry, Jason Merry, Peter & Tanusha Merry and also adopted daughter Jocelyn Nzisabira from Brundy and her family.
