Nancy Boucher Plaisted It is with great sadness that the family of Nancy Boucher Plaisted announces her passing, on June 7 at the age of 79 years, after a brief illness. Born in Saco, Nancy graduated from University of Southern Maine, known then at Gorham State Teachers College with a degree in early education. This is where she met and fell in love with her husband of 58 years Dick. Nancy went on to teach for 33 years in the Westbrook school system mostly at Saccarappa elementary school, helping hundreds of future scholars learn their ABCs and beginning numbers. She loved all her students and especially having children that she also had their parents as students in school. She was active in the Westbrook community as a Girl Scout Leader and with the women's club. After retiring, Nancy and Dick travel to many fun places and enjoyed life. She especially loved her summers at Sebago Lake. She enjoyed her knitting and a good book. For many years she did Ceramic once a week. Her home has many beautiful pieces she created for all the holidays. Nancy will be loving remembered by husband Dick, her children, Marc and his wife Doreen, and Vicki, her sister Priscilla and grandchildren Tre', Arthur, Harris and Deanna. Services will be held at Blais and Hay funeral home, 35 Church Street, Westbrook. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held Monday, June 12th at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in memory of Nancy to Maine Cancer Foundation or the American Heart Association of Maine.
