N. Rich Lindquist, DMD
CASCO- N. Rich Lindquist, 80, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026. Rich was born on May 13, 1946 in Portland, Maine, the son of the late Norman and Helen Lindquist. Rich graduated valedictorian from North Yarmouth Academy in 1964, and from Cornell University in 1968. Upon graduation from Cornell, he served in the United States Army where he completed his tour at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He then went on to earn his doctorate in Medical Dentistry with a specialty in orthodontics from Tufts University. He practiced orthodontics for 35 years in Brunswick where he raised his family with his wife, Laura, until his retirement in 2007. He was a respected member of both the dental and local communities, was involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, and was known by his patients for his quirky and extensive clock collection displayed in his office.
Rich grew up spending every summer on Sebago Lake at their family camp. Following retirement, he and Laura realized their dream of living full time at that same property. Rich knew every inch of his beloved Sebago, and enjoyed fishing for anything that would bite his line and going for boat rides. He loved animals (especially dogs), delighted in playing the steel drums (tenor pan), was brilliant, sarcastic, and talented with interest in anything that he could do creatively with his hands. At the core, Rich’s life was dedicated to his family, especially to his two children. He was unwavering in his support for their dreams, and always led quietly through example particularly in his love and devotion to his wife of 47 years. He had the great joy of becoming a grandfather of two, and relished his time spent playing with them at the lake.
Rich is survived by his loving wife, Laura, was an amazing father to his daughter, Krista Lindquist Welch and her husband, Daniel, his son Adam Lindquist and his wife Ariana, and was an adoring grandfather to Eriksson and Adalina. He is also survived by his sister, Sally Lindquist Perry and her husband Richard (Dick) Perry, a niece, Natalie Lathrop, and nephews, Chadd Gorden, Todd Gorden, Glenn Gorden, Stephen Lathrop II, Spencer Lathrop, Colby Lathrop, and Owen Lathrop.
The family would like to thank Donalyn, Lisa, The Woodlands, and Andwell Hospice House for their compassionate care and support.
Funeral arrangements have been made through Dolby, Blais, and Segee in Windham, Maine. A graveside service will be held on Thursday June 11, 2026, at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth, Maine at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or to your local animal shelter.
