Westbrook- Muriel Georgette Audet, 92, passed away on Friday March 16, 2018 in Scarborough. The daughter of Joseph and Eva (Pinette) Landry she was born in Lewiston. Her family moved to Westbrook shortly after her birth and she lived in Westbrook for the rest of her life. She attended Westbrook schools and married Arnold Audet, himself a Westbrook native, in 1952. They settled on Burnham St. to raise their family. When the children were grown, Muriel and Arnold purchased an RV and enjoyed traveling, making many trips to Canada, visiting Arnold's family. Muriel also enjoyed playing cards, especially the game 63, knitting and sewing. She will be fondly remembered for making her granddaughter, Kelley tiny outfits for her barbie dolls, and also making matching outfits for her and her dolls. She was known for her French meat pies which were a big hit on Christmas. She was predeceased by her husband Arnold of 55 years in 2007, her brother Edgar Landry and her sister Edna Cressey. She is survived by her son Michael Gilpatric and his wife Linda of Limington, her daughter Judy Pomerleau of Gorham, her grandchildren Kelley Gilpatric, Michael Gilpatric Jr. and his wife Shelly, Kristin Moore and her husband Ian, and Ryan Langmeire and his fiancé Katherine, her great grandchildren Jessie, Megan, Josh, and Ava, her great great grandchildren Julian, Jordann, and Jameson, and her brother Louis Landry. Per Muriel's request there will be no services. Interment will be in the spring in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery in Westbrook. Arrangements are under the care of the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee. Muriel's family wishes to thank the staff of Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for the excellent care that they provided to her and to her family.
