Mildred Stanley of Westbrook. Age 99 Westbrook- Mildred Ladd Stanley passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Barron Center in Portland on December 2, 2017 She was born September 1, 1918, the daughter of Dana and Blanche (Laberge) Ladd. She was a life-long resident of her beloved City of Westbrook. She worked at Westbrook's Saunders' Brothers Mill for nearly 40 years. In the 1950's she and her late husband, Earl, would travel throughout New England to competitively shoot skeet. At that time, she was ranked among the best women shooters in Maine and New Hampshire. Mildred was always there for her family and was a very dedicated caregiver to the love of her life, Earl, who owned a barber shop in the Cumberland Mills area of Westbrook. She also provided loving care to her aunt, Ione Barton, and was a devoted sister to Helen Ladd Turner during her battle with Parkinson's Disease. Mildred was always there! Having no children of her own, she was like a mother to her many nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Earl Stanley, her parents, and siblings, Everett Ladd of Portland, Raymond (Francis) Ladd of Westbrook and Helen (Fred) Turner of Westbrook, a niece, Patricia (Richard) Wescott of Kentucky, nephews Gene Turner of Kentucky and Ray Ladd of Windham and cousin Richard Barton of South Harpswell. She is survived by her nephews, Fred (Donna) Turner of Windham, Richard (Jan Keiper) Turner of Sebago, and Robert (Cindy) Ladd of Standish, niece Julie (Larry) Tucker of Thorndike, and cousins Robert (Beverly) Barton and Enoch (Mary) Barton of Westbrook. She also has several great nieces and nephews. Millie's family extends a special heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at the Barron Center. There will be a private graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook. Arrangements are under the care of Dolby, Blais & Segee Funeral Chapel, Westbrook.
