Obituary

Mildred Brown Walker, of Portland passed away peacefully on February 13, 2012 at the Baldemero State Veteran's Home in Land O Lakes, Florida after a long illness. She was born on October 6, 1924 in Lewiston, the daughter of Marcella M. and John A. Gendrolis. She was a 1943 graduate of Portland High School, whereupon she enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served her country during World War II. Millie resided in Portland for 40 years before retiring to Spring Hill, Florida for the past 20 years.   She enjoyed golf with her friends at Riverside Golf Course, loved card games with friends and family, and was an accomplished seamstress. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Ronald O. Brown and husband of 16 years, Bertrand E. Walker. She is survived by a son Ronald Brown Jr. (Wife Deborah) of Cumberland Foreside, two daughters Cynthia L. Baratta (Husband Nick) of Spring hill, FL, and Deborah J. Bailey (Husband Harold) of Gardiner, one sister Bertha E. Walker of Spring Hill, FL, 3 granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren with one on the way. Friends and Family are invited to attend a visitation on Monday February 20, from 11:00 to 12:00 Noon followed by a Funeral Service at Noon at Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook ME.
