Michael Gordon McDonald Sr. January 29, 1961 to August 4, 2023 Michael Gordon McDonald Sr., 63, of Gorham, Maine, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2023, after an 18-month battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He was born on January 29, 1961, in Portland, Maine, the youngest of eight children born to Arnold and Constance (Trynor) McDonald. On August 12, 1989, he married Brigitte McDonald at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland, Maine. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did. Michael was a kind and gentle soul who touched the lives of everyone he met. He was also a dedicated employee at Maine Medical Center, where he worked for 35 years, starting in environmental services and later became an electrician. Michael took great pride in his work and was always willing to go the extra mile to help others. Michael was a man of many interests. He loved spending time with his family, camping, golfing, playing cards, and riding motorcycles. The countless memories Michael leaves behind will serve as a continuous reminder of the joy and laughter he shared. His steadfast kindness and the optimism he embodied will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. Michael will be deeply missed by his wife, Brigitte (Steward) of Gorham, Maine, his six children Norma and her husband, Lucas Smith, of Port Charlotte, Florida, Michael Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Gorham, Maine, Daniel and his wife, Heidi, of Wiesbaden, Germany, Kiersten of Anchorage, Alaska, Gary and his wife, Paris, of Tampa, Florida, and Jenna of Anchorage, Alaska; eleven grandchildren, Matthew, Owen, Connor, Cody, Mason, Hadley, Maeve, Teagan, Truitt, Jaxson, and Scarlett; great grandchild Faye; and many dear family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Constance (Trynor) McDonald and four nephews, Edmund McDonald, James McDonald, Dennis Kennedy Sr., and Shawn McKeough Jr. The family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have offered their condolences and support during this difficult time.
