Obituary

POLAND , Michael E. Fisher, 66 passed peacefully in the comfort of his home on July 2, 2025, after a battle of acute myeloid leukemia. Michael was born March 18, 1959, a son to Richard and Lela Swett of Portland. Michael graduated Deering High School class of 1978. Following high school, Mike met the love of his Pam and the two were married in 1982 and they built a home in Windham and later he became the father to Rebecca and Aimee. Mike worked at Logical Solutions in computer software for many years and then started a landscaping company called A Plus Landscaping. Mike had a passion for gardening, working with his hands, and being creative with his skills. Mike loved just living life, his contagious personality and huge heart for everyone made him loved by so many. Mike had the nickname "Fishman" he was an avid fisherman; Him and Pam bought a camp on little Sebago Lake and built it into a beautiful year-round home, he enjoyed many bbqs , fishing, boating, and making memories with all his family and friends. He lived to see smiles on people's faces; he couldn't walk into a store without someone hollering "Hey Fishman". Mike loved his daughters with all he had. He was an amazing father and the best papa to his 3 grandsons Nick, Avery, and Brookston. Mikes other passion was golfing. He golfed many courses over the years. His annual trip with all his buddies up to Sugarloaf was one of his favorites. He would golf as much as he possibly could from playing golf with his grandson Nick (aka Cap) while Pam would be taking photos of the wildlife nearby. His clubs went on most of his trips he took with his wife and any chance he could get he would be on a course. Mike travelled to many places with his family and Pam. Some of his favorites were Sanibel Island, Arizona, and Mexico. He enjoyed learning the history of places he travelled to and things he would see. Mike was also a huge sports fan - placing bets on games, watching sports or having the game playing on the radio was always an occurrence in the Fisher household. From baseball (Redsox fan ) football - huge Cowboys fan, Mike enjoyed many hockey games over the years and watching golf as much as he could, even reruns. He is survived by his two daughters Rebecca and Aimee Fisher; 3 Grandsons Nicholas, Avery and Brookston ;3 sisters and a brother. As well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by the love of his life "his girl "his wife of 38 years Pamela Fisher; his mother Lela Mae Swett; father Richard Swett; mother father-in-law Richard and Gwen mills; brother Edward Anderson. Mike will always be remembered as "Fishman" a man who would give the shirt of his back to anyone, and always giving someone the benefit of the doubt, he had a heart of gold, and contagious personality. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
