Michael Earle "Mike" Doughty, 60, of North Waterboro, died unexpectedly on January 30, 2023 at his home. He was born August 3,1962 in Portland, the son of Joyce D. Doughty (Graffam) and the late Earle E. Doughty, Jr. Mike graduated from Falmouth high school, class of 1981. After graduation Mike served in the U.S. Army. During his time serving Mike did a tour in Germany, was a Sargent First Class out of Lewiston, and served in "Operation Enduring Freedom" in Afghanistan. Mike received awards for his skills, such as sharp shooting, and became an instructor. Mike was an avid Boston Red Sox fan with a passion for baseball, and enjoyed watching the games with his father Earle and son Michael. Mike was the first person to help anyone in need, and also modeled generosity. Mike will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and those who knew him. Surviving is his mother Joyce Doughty, son Michael Anthony Doughty of Portland, granddaughter Cora Belle of Massachusetts, and his sisters Julie Doughty of South Portland, Helen Huntley of North Waterboro and Kathy Dudley of Portland. Nieces Jennifer, Rebecca, Melissa, Marissa, and great niece Madeline Grace. Nephews David and James Jr., and many cousins with which he shared a lot of great memories. Services for Mike will be at a later date.
