Westbrook and Herman, Melvina A. Berry, 90, wife of the late Raymond Berry, passed away March 30, 2017 at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Westbrook, March 29, 1927, the daughter of Mildred Robinson and Richard Casey. She lived most of her life in Westbrook, later moving to New York and Ohio. She returned to Westbrook where she and her husband raised their family. Melvina was employed by S.D. Warren Paper Mill, Coca Cola, and Unitrode, where she retired in 1988. She enjoyed camping at Apple Valley Campground in Acton, dancing on weekends, Bingo, shopping, and cherished spending time with her family. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her daughter Arlene, mother Mildred Robinson, sister Maxine, and her brothers Donald, Stanley, Richard, and Thomas. Melvina is survived by her son Thomas R. Berry and his wife Julie of Herman, grandson Matthew T. and his wife Kristen Berry, great grandson Jayden M. Berry of Holden, brother David Corkey and his wife Martha of Brunswick, and two very special people, Paul and Linda Soucy of Brewer, along with several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her friends at Boulier Place in Herman. She will be remembered as a very generous and caring woman who enjoyed helping others. She will leave a large emptiness in our hearts. Visiting hours will be from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook, followed by a funeral service at 7 PM.
