Westbrook – Maurice P. "Uncle Moe" Mondor, 57, of Myrtle St, died unexpectedly Friday Aug. 3, at the Maine Medical Center. He was born in Westbrook, the son of Wilfrid and Theresa Tanguay Mondor. He was raised and educated in Westbrook and was a 1973 graduate of Westbrook High School. Maurice had been employed for over 35 years by the Pactiv Corp. in South Portland. He enjoyed fishing and owned several race horses over the years. He was a member of the Maine Harness Racing Association, the U. S. Trotting Association. Maurice was also a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus and made a yearly pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady in Colebrook, N.H. Maurice is survived by his brother Joseph and wife Cheryl Mondor of Lyman and their children Laurie, Diane and Joseph Jr., his sister Marie and husband Richard Silver of Westbrook and their children Andrew and Emily. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church.
