Maurice G. Dugas, 76, of Winter Haven, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2012 from complications due to pneumonia after years of battling cancer. He was born June 21, 1936 in Westbrook, Maine to Ernest and Aurore (Larivee) Dugas. He retired from the S.D. Warren Paper Company in 1995 after 28 years and moved to his 'paradise' in Winter Haven, Florida. He and Patsy returned to Maine each summer thereafter to their camp on Sebago Lake where they enjoyed watching their granddaughters grow. They considered this to be some of the happiest years of their lives. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool with 'the guys' at the club house in the retirement park where he lived in Winter Haven. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country during the Korean War. He was also a member of the American Legion, Frierson Nichols Post 8 in Winter Haven. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Andre Dugas. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 49 years Patsy (Wright) Dugas; daughter Cynthia (Dugas) Fendrick of Windham; sisters Dolores Philips of Limerick and Raymonde Crockett and husband David of Gorham; a brother Pierre Dugas and wife Ida of Westbrook; two granddaughters, Brittany and Rebecca Fendrick, both of Windham and many loved nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service held at Blais and Hay Funeral Home on 35 Church Street in Westbrook on January 10, 2012 beginning at 4 pm.
