Mary "Mamie" Rogers, 94, longtime resident of Gorham, passed away peacefully February 17, 2022. She was born on the family homestead in Limington, Maine on September 5, 1927. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Rogers-McDowell of Arizona, Jo-Ann Howard of Portland, Oregon, Lori Hammond of Windham, Maine; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren. Mary was strong, supportive, opinionated, outspoken, feisty, funny, caring and loving. She was a hard worker and at one point in her life held down three jobs to support her family. She was always involved in something whether it was lounging in the sun in her favorite webbed lounge chair, knitting sweaters, scarves, mittens or socks, picking fresh strawberries at a local farm and giving most away to friends, or honing her cheating skills playing cards with family, which became a family joke. Mary's favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved the decorating inside and outside, shopping for gifts, wrapping them all and then spending the day with her family. These are just are few of the memories we will continue to cherish. There will be no visiting hours or public services. Interment will be held in the fall for family.
