Obituary

Mary Estella Paquin, 96, of Gorham, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025.

Born on October 14, 1929, in Augusta, Maine, she was the daughter of Cecil Warren and Zylpha Whitmore (Hatch) Richardson. Mary grew up in Bath, where she graduated from Morse High School in 1947. She retired from Sears and Roebuck after 35 years.

Mary was a proud member of the Bath Garden Club and attended Bath Grace Episcopal Church, where she found community and fellowship. She was prolific in her creation of counted cross-stitch and hooked wool rugs, producing beautiful works that reflected her artistic talent. Affectionately known as "Mimi" to her family, she enjoyed sunny days at the beach, reading, cooking and collecting antiques. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Vincent Paquin whom she married June 23, 1967, as well as her parents and half-brother, Adelbert Richardson.

She leaves behind her brother, Arthur Winslow Richardson of Boothbay Harbor as well as her two daughters and husbands: Linda Susan and Wayne Stiffler of Hollis; and Kathryn Ann and Charles Nickerson of Windham. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren: Drue V. Nickerson, Corey M. Nickerson, Evan C. Nickerson, Michalah B Nickerson, Hannah K. Nickerson, Meghann E. Stiffler, and Sean E. Stiiffler, and twelve great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory.

She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the stories and lives of those she touched.

Services will be held privately at this time.
