Mary B. Gowen, 78, of Constitution Dr., Westbrook, passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at Springbrook Nursing Home. She was born in Waterville, the daughter of Charles and Valeda (Lantco) Bishop.  Mary worked for Bradlees for 25 years and LL Bean for 7 years before retiring. Mary enjoyed knitting for family and friends spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed entertaining ,spending time around the pool and teaching her grandchildren how to swim.  She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Joe. She is survived by her husband Alfred "Joe" Gowen of Westbrook; her children Bruce Gowen and wife Mary of Gorham and their children Tyler and Nicholas ; Brian Gowen and wife Donna of Newburyport, MA and their children Kyle, Hannah, and Alexander, and Brenda Tanguay and husband Albert of Westbrook and their children Aaron, Michael, Jordan, and Zachary. Visiting hours will be from 11 AM to 12 Noon Friday followed by a funeral service at Noon at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook.  Interment will be at a later date.  On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
