Mary T. Lampron Axelsen , 66 of Standish, died on October 6, 2013 at Gosnell House with her loving family at her side. Mary was born on October 7, 1946 in Westbrook, the daughter of Theodore and Loretta Blake Lampron. She was a 1965 graduate of Westbrook High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald J. Axelsen, Sr on October 2, 1965 and moved to Standish shortly after to raise their two children. The family has wonderful memories of spending time at their camp in Rangeley. Mary loved to dance and was part of a line dancing team, Two Left Feet. She also enjoyed kayaking, painting, crafts, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed volunteering and helping the elderly at The Barron Center, Project Graduation and for The Lions Club. Mary was employed at First Technology in Standish, formerly Sylvania for 32 years. She was a communicant of St Anne Church in Gorham. She was predeceased by her parents. Surviving are her husband Gerald Sr of 48 years, her daughter Lori Axelsen and her husband Adrian Roy of Colorado, her son Gerald Axelsen, Jr and his wife Anne Axelsen of Standish; two granddaughters, Brooke Mullis and her husband Mark Mullis of Old Orchard Beach and Baillie Axelsen of Standish; her mother in-law Althea Pat Axelsen of Westbrook and two sisters, Patricia Maramonte of California and Lucille Gammon of Buxton. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM on Wednesday at Blais and Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. A 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 299 Main St, Gorham, followed by interment at Dow Cemetery, Cape Rd, Standish.
