Marsha Louise (Monahon) Weiser, 76, a longtime resident of Windham and Brewer, Maine, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, surrounded by family and dear friends, in her beloved lakefront home in Windham. She is survived by her loving family, including her daughter Heidi Weiser Clarke and her husband Michael of Walpole, Massachusetts, and Scott Weiser and his partner CJ Johnson of Oakland, California. Marsha is also survived by her sister, Gail Monahon, and her brother, David Monahon, both of Weston, Massachusetts, and her former husband, Robert Weiser, of Palm Springs, California. She was a devoted grandmother to Andrew, Charlotte, and William Clarke, whom she loved dearly with the utmost pride and adoration. A native of Massachusetts, she was born in Newton on July 30, 1948, to the late Arthur T. Monahon, Jr., and Priscilla (Moore) Monahon. She spent her childhood in Weston, graduating from Weston High School in 1966. She attended Middlebury College ('70) and graduated with honors in mathematics. She married her college sweetheart, Robert Weiser, and after spending several years in Germany and Vermont, they settled in Brewer, Maine, to raise their family. From her earliest days, Marsha exhibited extraordinary talent for the arts and was an accomplished painter, art teacher, and designer. As a creative entrepreneur, she owned the former Maine Country Painting in downtown Bangor, an independent store offering art and paint supplies and class instruction. She published eight instructional painting books highlighting her designs and techniques. Marsha achieved the designation of Certified Decorative Artist with the Society of Decorative Painters, which enabled her to travel the country as a sought-after seminar instructor. A lifelong avid reader who devoured several books each week, she shared this love of books as a volunteer at the Windham Public Library. Marsha enjoyed traveling and especially cherished time spent by the water. Her most treasured memories were traditions established through annual trips to Drake's Island, Beech Hill Pond, Little Sebago Lake, and Nantucket with her family and friends. However, her home on Pettingill Pond was a tranquil haven where she explored her many passions and simple pleasures, including gardening, painting, birdwatching, home renovation, knitting, puzzles, legos, and reading. Marsha's most significant role was that of a fiercely dedicated and doting mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She practiced kindness, thoughtfulness, and tolerance while touching the lives of all who knew her with her intelligence, compassion, and grace. May she grace our hearts and spirits forever. Her family is planning a celebration of life on January 4, 2025 at Dolby, Blais & Segee - Windham Chapel, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Good Shepard Food Bank at giving.gsfb.org, an organization proudly supported by Marsha that strives to build a future where all Mainers are food secure.
