GORHAM - Marjorie Arlene Cressey, 90, formerly of Gorham passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at a South Portland nursing home. She was born May 9, 1927 to Mary (Agnes) and Archibald Allen of Falmouth, ME. Marjorie attended school in Portland and Falmouth and graduated from Bob Jones Academy Cleveland, TN in 1946. She married Lawrence G. Cressey in 1948. She loved her family and grandchildren. She liked to socialize and loved to dance. Marjorie attended Little Falls Baptist Church. She is predeceased by her husband Lawrence Cressey; her sister Joyce Kennison of Dixfield; and her friend Art Wing in September 2008. Marjorie's family would like to thank the South Portland Nursing Home and all their staff for their excellent care and compassion. She is survived by her children, Joyce Edwards & husband Barry of South Portland, their children, Michael and Chris, their grandchildren, Kristen, Timothy, Steven, and Cameron, and their great grandchild, Aubree; Kenneth Cressey & wife Pat Long-Cressey of Lewiston, their children, Timothy, Thomas, Meghann, and Melissa, and their grandchildren, Colton, Milton, and Cadence; Barbara Mills of Waterboro, her children, Steven and Kayla, and her grandchild Emily; and David Cressey & wife Lorraine of Phippsburg, and their children Mathew and Emily. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM – 7:00PM Tuesday October 3, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday October 4. Burial will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park 2002 Congress Street, Portland.
