Obituary

Marjorie Ayres Clark, 90, passed away peacefully at the Gosnell House in Scarborough on December 1, 2023, lovingly surrounded by her family. She was born July 15, 1933 in Virginia to Mary and Lloyd Ayres. Marjorie grew up in Virginia with her five siblings and is survived by her brother Charles Ayres. She loved to dance and often attended dances at the USO with her girlfriends where she met Owen Clark, MP. They married and moved to Maine and raised a family of 8. Marjorie worked at the National Semiconductor for 27 years before retiring in 1995. Marjorie loved going to Sebago Lake and often took her young family, and as adults, the family enjoyed many large outings at the Lake. She loved to read and would sit with a book on the beach and just relax and enjoy the weather or tend to her grandchildren. She often traveled and attended events with her many friends at the Windham Seniors Center. She really enjoyed a trip she took to Ireland. Marjorie was also quite adventurous and enjoyed a good rollercoaster, she was quick to volunteer to ride with her grandchildren when their parents didn't have the stomach to! She enjoyed motorcycle rides with her son Chris. She also very much enjoyed multiple trips to New Hampshire to visit the attractions – White Mountains, Santa's Village, Story Land, The Flumes, and stopping along the Kancamagus Highway at a whim just so the grandchildren could explore along the rivers or walk the different trails. She enjoyed collecting owls as a hobby and planting flowers in her back yard. Marjorie had a warm smile and contagious laugh. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Marjorie is survived by her children: Christopher Clark of Limington, Kathryn Walrath of Gorham, Karen Olson of Windham, Cynthia Clark of Lisbon, Darryl Clark of Old Orchard Beach, Deborah Hanley of Otisfield, Donna Clark of Windham, Matthew Clark of Conroe, Texas and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
