Marjorie Hope Blanchard Rollins, a long time resident of Raymond, Maine, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. She was 101. Marjorie was born in Portland, Maine, on January 27, 1924, the daughter of Morris and Dorothea (Pride) Blanchard. She was the sister of the late Ruth Spencer of Littleton, New Hampshire. Marjorie grew up in Portland, graduating from Deering High School. Following graduation, she attended a cosmetology school and worked as a hair stylist during her early twenties. While in high school she met her future husband, Clifford Rollins. They married on July 15, 1944, and were married for 66 years. Together they had a daughter, Cathy. Following Cathy's birth, Marjorie enjoyed her opportunity to spend time with Cathy as a stay at home mom. Marjorie enjoyed spending time with family at Crescent Lake in Raymond. Time with family was her favorite time. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, baking, and needle point, knitting sweaters for her grandchildren and making her daughter's wedding gown. She was an avid reader and puzzle maker. She was also an avid walker and could be seen walking down the Plains Road with walking sticks in hand well into her 80's. She was predeceased in death by her husband Clifford Rollins. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy and husband Ed Silvia of North Dighton, MA and grandchildren Susan(Silvia) Marshall and husband Michael of Assonet, MA, and Chris Silvia and wife Necia of Spanish Fork, Utah; five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. SERVICES—A grave side service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, at Moss Side Cemetery, Main Street, Cumberland, Maine beginning at 1:00 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the South Portland Beacon Hospice Branch, 52 Atlantic Place, South Portland, ME.
