Obituary

Marilyn Dorothy Wormwood (Reinhard), 85, died in Portland on August 4, 2023, after a long illness. She was born September 10, 1937, in Cheshire, Connecticut, to George T. and Daisy Adeline (Bell) Reinhard. Marilyn and her family lived in Connecticut until moving to Naples, Maine, in 1945. She graduated from Potter Academy, Sebago, Class of 1955. After High School, she graduated from Bliss Business College in Lewiston, ME. On September 12, 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, Alston Wormwood, with whom she had celebrated 57 years of marriage upon his loss in 2016. Marilyn loved supporting her family, friends, employers, and the people she helped at work and church. She made friends easily, her love for others was unending, and her legacy is one of kindness and grace. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Beverly Cox, and her husband Alston. Surviving are their children, Kevin Wormwood and his wife, Gail of Limington; Kyle Wormwood and his wife, Shelly of North Chesterfield, VA, and Karen Vincent and her husband Jeff of Westbrook; siblings, Brian Reinhard and Donald Reinhard, of Naples; and Marvin Reinhard, of Baldwin; grandchildren, Sarah Engel and her husband Sean, Bailey Wormwood, Jennifer Lambert and her husband Blake, Ellen Warren and her husband Paul, Zachary Vincent, Avery Amabile and her husband Evan, and Paige Bougie and her husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Maddox, Leo, Haven, Daisy, and Jonah. The family wishes to thank Fallbrook Woods and their many staff members for the years of faithful and loving care Marilyn received there. A public memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Cressey Road Christian Church, 81 Cressey Rd., Gorham, ME. All are welcome to a reception at the church's fellowship hall immediately following the service. Burial will be at the Dow Corner Cemetery on Cape Road/Rt 35a in Standish afterward.
