Marie C. (Ledoux) Carroll, passed away at home with her family nearby, after a two year battle with cancer. She was born February 21, 1943 in Westbrook, Maine. The daughter of Yvonne (Blake) Ledoux and Paul A. Ledoux, now both deceased. Marie is survived by two sons: Peter Royland, his wife Millie, their two children and three grandchildren, from Kissimmee, FL. Son Joseph Royland, his wife Lisa and their son, from Gorham, ME. She is also survived by four sisters, Ann Clark, Jean Amidon, Linda Ledoux, and Carol Bevan, and many nieces and nephews. Marie attended St. Mary's Grammar School and Cathedral High School. She worked at WT Grants Dept. Store, Sears, and finally retired in 1999 after a long career at UNUM. She was a member of St. Ann's Church in Gorham, and also a long time, active member of the American Legion Auxiliary (Post 62 in Westbrook). She worked tirelessly for our veterans and gave many volunteer hours at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough. Other volunteer activities included work for the Special Olympics, the Maine Center for the Blind, Westbrook's Concerts in the Park, the Prayer Shawl ministry at St. Anthony's Church, and helping her neighbors at Riverview Terrace. Marie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dining out, traveling, craft activities and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm at Blais and Hay Funeral Home, a funeral service will be held at St. Ann's Church in Gorham on Saturday at 10 am. Interment will be held in the spring at St. Hyacinth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
