Obituary

Marguerite (Marge) E. McMillin, 92, of Westbrook, Maine, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at Springbrook Nursing Center in Westbrook.  She bravely and with grace battled Multiple Myeloma and more recently Colon cancer and Liver cancer. She was born July 18, 1920 in Lakeville, New Brunswick, Canadato John and Harriet Fowler Morris and moved to Portland, Maine with her family when she was three.  Marge proudly became a naturalized citizen of the US in 1945. She met the love of her life, Glenn E. McMillin, when they were teenagers at a church retreat.  They married July 15, 1945 after Glenn came back from WWII serving in the US Army.  She worked three nights a week in the Air Force Auxiliary while at the same time working a full time job. Marge received the Braun Medal when graduating from Portland High School as one of the top 5 girls in her class and then went on to business college.  She said she "never had a day she didn't enjoy going to work".  Marge worked as an accountant for Cook, Everett & Pennell and later working in the office at Weyerhauser in Westbrook. She was a kind, loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend who always had a positive attitude, even through her sickness.   She loved people and was willing to help however she could.  She enjoyed visiting family in Arizona, entertaining people at their camp in North Windham and meeting with people of her church. Marge was an active member in the Methodist church from a young age and most recently enjoyed being a member of the Cressey Road United Methodist Church in Gorham.
