Obituary

Margot Leclerc of Westbrook quietly slipped away on Monday August 4, 2014. She was born in Bad-Salzuflen/Shӧtmar, Germany, a daughter of Heinrich and Hedwig Doepkens. Margot was raised and educated in Germany, graduating from the German school system. Shortly after, she started to work as a civilian employee on the Ramstein/Landstuhl Airbase in Germany and the Siegelbach Switching Ctr. During that time she made up her mind to immigrate, and in 1962 she entered the U.S.A. Once here, she stayed with her sister Lieselotte and brother-in-law William LaPierre. Here she met and married her first husband Sgt. Lester Earl MacDonald "Buddy". Lester was killed in action shortly after his deployment to Vietnam. Margot stayed in Westbrook for the rest of her life. Here she raised her son Michael W. MacDonald and met and married Roger J. LeClerc. Together they owned and operated LeClerc/s Service Ctr. For over 40 years. Besides working in the business Margot enjoyed working for Owen Moore's, Pinetree Gift & Cards, and Sebago Moc. Being a very fun lover person Margot loved being active in the German-American Club, loved NASCAR racing, dancing the night away with Roger and of course traveling. Her proudest day was when she became a United States citizen. She also made her American High School diploma and was very happy to do so. Margot was predeceased by her parents Heinrich and Hedwig Doepkens and her first husband and his parents. She is also predeceased by her mother and father-in-law Bertha and Dorilas LeClerc. She is survived by her husband Roger J. LeClerc and most of his big extended family of Maine, California, Florida, Georgia, and New York, her son Michael W. MacDonald and his wife Sandy of Buxton, her sister Lieselotte LaPierre and husband William LaPierre and family of Arizona, a granddaughter, Jennifer Dalton and husband Jesse of Massachusetts, and a great-granddaughter, Addison Dianne Dalton. On Margot's behalf, the family would like to thank the staff in the Mercy Hospital for the wonderful care she received over many years. Doctors, nurses, she always called you "The Angels of Mercy". A very special thank you to Dr. John Erickson who took care of her for almost 20 years as her PCP. A Funeral mass will be held Monday at 11 am, at St. Anthony's Church in Westbrook, interment will follow at St. Hyacinth Cemetery.
